The unfussiness of this little painting belies the complex that underlies any flower or plant in nature. Too complex for a mere mortal to even contemplate let alone to paint. I did not want to labour over these fresh alive flowers in a way that makes them concreted to the canvas but wanted to keep them fresh and moving on the canvas. I feel they are still fresh and alive.
