Kalbarrie - search of the wildflowers from Perth to Kalbarrie

A large painting, painted on site on a beautiful Western Australian spring day. I set up my paints and laid my canvas on the ground under a shady tree on the edge of the water. The objective of my journey was to find fields of wild flowers and this spot offers that chance. At the end of the day I had to roll the painting up and it was quite wet so, as is my custom to put something of the place on the canvas I decided to add the red sandy loam to the painting to dry it out and to take a token of this place home. I continued my journey inland to complete a circuit back to Perth. It was a wonderful trip with lots to explore on return home.
