In Our Little Heroes Campsite, we collected found objects around the abandoned settler’s cottage to make art.    Stringing an eclectic variety of things randomly on old rusty wire we produced an interesting sculpture.   In the light of the campfire it took on a hauntingly lovely patina which I then was inspired to render on canvas.

The technique which followed my Greek Collection in style is one of very simple masses of rich earth colours of Venetian Red, Saffron Yellow, Alizarin Crimson.   Rub back and scratching methods give a worn truth to its earthiness.

Gazing beyond the art and the glow of the fire I saw the dancing shaman on the path, journeying, to bring back the forgotten knowledge of the stars.  Knowledge that life is constantly in a state of flux and art is a concrete construction that is only hinted at that knowledge.
