This painting has a manicured technique, concentrating on directional brushstrokes and play of broken palette colour - mixing colours on the canvas with each brushstroke - each brushstroke colour is unique. 
The idea for this is to depict the idea that Tasmania is broken away from the mainland and the granite rocks indicate that.
Bay of Fires is a very picturesque area on the East coast of Tasmania.
